Millville, NJ Family Dental Clinic Holds Oral Cancer Screening Event

The Dental Care of Millville NJ family dental clinic held a free oral cancer screening event for the residents of South Jersey. The event was held on the 7th of February 2015 from 11 AM to 4 PM at our location in Millville. In partnership with the Oral Cancer Foundation, this event was intended to promote a greater awareness of oral cancer and its effects throughout the South Jersey Community. Dr. Steven Schwartz, our resident oral cancer detection expert, led this community-wide effort. According to the Oral Cancer Foundation, approximately 43,250 people in the United States will be diagnosed with oral cancer each year. Alarmingly, only more than half of that number (around 57%) would be alive in 5 years. Experts say that early detection is the key to effectively limit casualties of the disease.
